Thankfully, there are plenty of indoor options for people to brush up their skills and compete in leagues year-round. Learn the features of indoor tennis clubs in Philadelphia before acquiring a membership.

Courts

As a city, Philly is lucky to have a lot of great options for brushing up on your serve. Whether it’s an exclusive club with posh amenities or a public park that offers a last-minute, no-commitment match, there are plenty of ways to get out and practice in the area.

The Saint Joseph University Tennis Complex features six courts on Maguire Campus and four original Finnesey Courts alongside Sweeney Field. This facility is a hub for the Hawks men’s and women’s teams, and offers private instruction, clinics, interclub league play, and other special events throughout the year.

A nationally ranked junior tournament player, PA High School state champion, and a highly recruited Division 1 collegiate player, Mak has the experience to take any student to the next level. He is committed to bringing the game of tennis to students in a positive, empowering way and teaches fundamentals, technique, drills, footwork, and match-play skills.

Cherry Hill Health & Racquet Club has several indoor tennis courts and offers a wide range of organized leagues, lessons, and tournaments for all ages. They also offer fitness training, summer tennis academy, and adult and junior interclub leagues.

Lessons

If you’re in the mood for a game of tennis, you can find plenty of opportunities to play in Philadelphia. You can rent courts at local recreation centers and even join an indoor tennis club. These clubs offer leagues, lessons, and clinics for all ages. Some also offer pickleball. Some clubs also have outdoor courts and other amenities, such as basketball and volleyball.

Frog Hollow hosts ladies’ in-house leagues each fall and winter, and a spring and summer travel team that plays outdoor matches at various clubs in Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, and sometimes southern New Jersey. Its teams include both mixed and regular doubles teams at levels ranging from beginner to advanced.

Other local racquet sports clubs with indoor tennis courts in the Philadelphia area include the Cherry Hill Health and Racquet Club, which has two locations, including one that features indoor courts. The DVTA in Bala Cynwyd and Bryn Mawr has rotating adult and junior tennis programs, and it offers a wide range of other racquet sports for adults and kids, including squash, badminton, and pickleball.

Located just several minutes outside of Philadelphia, Green Valley Tennis Club in Haddon Township, NJ, has two indoor tennis courts that are open for use from October through April. The Club also offers a QuickStart junior tennis program, interclub leagues, clinics, and private instruction. The Club’s Top Flight Summer Academy is an ATP-sponsored academy for motivated intermediate and advanced juniors.

Cherry Hill Health and Racquet Club’s two locations have indoor tennis courts for members and guests.
